Frequently Asked Questions About Probation
I have been placed on probation. Now what? You will be required to report, in person, to the probation department on a regular basis, generally at least once a month.
Where do I go for probation appointments? Go to the probation department located on the first floor of the Rocky River Municipal Court. Check in with the probation receptionist then remain in the waiting area until your name is called.
What if I miss an appointment? You must keep your scheduled appointments. If you have missed your appointment or need to reschedule you upcoming appointment, you must speak directly with the community control secretary or officer during regular business hours for a new appointment. Leaving a message is unacceptable. If you have a need to reschedule your appointment, you must provide documentation verifying your need to reschedule.
What if I receive a notice of a probation violation? If there is bond to be posted, please come to the Rocky River Municipal Court clerk's office to post your bond, clear your warrant, and get a court date. If there is no bond available, please turn yourself into the city where your offense originated.
I am unable to pay all of my fines and costs on time. What do I do? Write a letter to the judge explaining the situation and requesting additional time to pay. File the motion with the Rocky River Municipal Court clerk's office. There is a $50 filing fee due at the time of filing, contact your probation officer.

What do I do if I change my address or telephone number? You shall maintain a regular residence and immediately notify community control if there is any change in address or telephone number.
What if I need to travel out of the State of Ohio? You shall not leave the State of Ohio without the permission of the community control officer.
